The Care

  • In our unique, intimate home you will receive quality care tailored to your individual needs.

  • Residents with complex health and/or behavioural needs, including residents with mild to moderate dementia, can rely on clinical care of the highest standard being provided by our team of professional, dedicated staff, including Registered Nurses Division 1 on duty 24/7.

  • However, we are not a dementia specific home as the open layout of the building prevents certain dementia related behaviours to be managed effectively without affecting the quality of life of all other residents.

  • Our Executive Director of Nursing ensures that Registered Nurses Division 1, members of the care team, visiting doctors and allied health professionals contribute towards the comprehensive assessment of residents' care needs and development of individually tailored care plans.

  • Therefore, you [the resident and family] can be assured of:

    • your care and other needs being comprehensively assessed, resulting in an individualised tailored care plan which will guide our care team

    • your care plan being reviewed every month in consultation with you, the care team, visiting doctors and internal/external health care professionals

    • staff being alert to any changes in your care needs which will lead to your care plan being up-dated, or we might refer you to external specialists for further consultation if needed

    • the care team respecting and meeting your dietary needs, including cultural/religious traditions

    • the professionalism of our nursing staff to competently provide clinical and complex nursing care, including enteral feeding, catheter care and wound care

    • the professionalism of our Registered Nurses Division 1 in managing and administering your medications safely

    • the competence of the care team in assisting you with all aspects of daily living, ie showering, grooming, continence management.

  • Families can be assured that our care team, under the direction of the Executive Director of Nursing, will be alert to the development of aged related behaviour issues [Dementia, Alzheimer's] and that we will -

    • provide them with all relevant information, eg links to websites, printed material, support services, and

    • consult with them regarding appropriate strategies to ensure continued quality of life may be enjoyed by their relatives.

  • We closely liaise and consult with all internal/external health care professionals, eg visiting doctors, hospitals, specialists [to name a few] to ensure that our residents receive care based on a holistic approach inclusive of clinical, social, spiritual/religious and emotional needs.

  • Our home is fully computerised and care staff access our WiFi network from various locations within the building to document resident care, whilst our Registered Nurses Division 1 manage and administer medications using a mobile electronic system, which is integrated with the documentation software.

  • We resource our care team with a variety of equipment, eg lifting/standing machines, tilt-in-space shower chairs, slide sheets, crash mats, sensor bed & chair mats, and the digital call bell system, to ensure you are safety transferred, your risk of falls is minimised, and your needs are promptly responded to.

  • The positive feedback from residents, families, visiting doctors and health care professionals on the high standards of care and the enormous difference we are able to make to our residents' quality of life, is very gratifying.

  • We are also very proud of -

    • our excellent record in infection control, which has prevented any outbreaks of infectious diseases in 11 years

    • our capacity to achieve improvements in residents' mobility and independence

    • our success in rehabilitating residents following hospital admissions, and

    • assisting residents to maintain the optimum level of health and quality of life possible.
